I bought this pack because I live in Washington (yes, it rains quite a bit here) so the waterproof feature is a quasi necessity. There are a couple of items I want to contradict about the 'Features' listed above. There is no 'Divider between the main and sleeping bag compartments - rather you have one large compartment. I like this feature as I can arrange my belongings as I deem fit with no extra wasted space. Second, there are no water bottle holsters found on the bag. The bag design is clean and simple. The Hydration sleeve is huge. I use it as a waterproof internal compartment (my whiskey needs a home as well) and then add my bladder on top. The bag carries 40 lbs quite easily. The back panel automatically adjusts to the wearer's needs/size. That is a pretty slick feature.

Q.} Do I have to get my girlfriend a women's-specific backpack if her torso size fits a men's one? Do the shoulder strap position and waist belt flare really matter and do you wear a women’s-specific backpack?

A.} No, Miguel, you don’t necessarily have to get your girlfriend a women’s specific pack. I often wear men’s or unisex packs with great success. And I know small men who have had luck with women’s packs. Forget about the gender labels and look at the pack itself, and the way it works with your girlfriend’s body shape.
