The point of the video was to teach people the basics of fly fishing not fly fishing backpacking style
Coastal Explorer you are very observant as there are cars in the background of this video.
With all that gear - big reel, lots of backing, tons of flies in multiple boxes, a fly vest, etc. I doubt this guy is backpacking. How about putting together a video that reflects what a backpacker would carry. Minimalist stuff. No vest. I box of flies tops. Small, lightweight reel with little backing (more is unnecessary), no net, etc.
