I think your blog description covers it, survival, skills and more. While I could do with fewer stories about some unlucky bastard who had to be rescued I would like more about folks who got themselves out of a jam and how they did it.

As for the More part of the description I like the occasional updates on gear you're testing but how about something on the old reliable type of items you just can't do without?

What grampa said. more ultralight.

And more stuff for noobs. I do a lot of hiking but have only done a tiny bit of camping. The tent I bought from REI is pretty snazzy, but nowhere in the setup instructions, or anywhere on their website for that matter, does it explain how to set up the guyline.

More on light weight or ultra light backpacking - your spring coverage on that last year was okay, but seemed kind of dismissive of the really light gear. As some of us age, the really light gear allows some of us to continue hiking.

Maybe a bit more on light gear that you find efficient and safe with. As I age (68) the weight factor becomes more important. Also any topic on the deserts, routes, techniques, fun places, good photo areas, etc. As a photographer any ideas and experience on "carrying" the gear would be interesting.
