How can I comparison-shop for a guided trek in Alaska?

A new company, Triporama, just launched the beta version of its "reverse auction" site (www.triporama.com), offering a twist on the Priceline concept: You enter the specs of your trip (including a budget), then let outfitters bid for your business via e-mail. Triporama says it's leveling the playing field by giving smaller operators the chance to compete with the big fish. Do your homework on price ranges, and be wary of overly low offers. The "bargain" might omit something vital, or have strings attached.
