the largest complex of wilderness is the ADK isnt it?

NOT. Perhaps rainiest city, but Mt. Waialeale on Kauai gets the prize for being the 2nd wettest spot on earth, receiving more than 460 inches of rain per year -- 25 FEET more than Yakutat. Last time I looked, Hawaii was in the U.S.

I believe Mt Waialeale on Kauai in Hawaii averages almost three times the rainfall of Yakutat, AK.

I would challenge the rainiest spot in the US. Mount Waialeale on Kauai (state of Hawaii) is the rainiest spot on Earth, averaging 440 inches per year. This makes Yakulat's 160 inches sound a little less impressive.

Hmmm... I thought it was Mt. Wai'ale'ale in Kauai, Hawaii with an annual average rainfall of 460 inches

Umm, I think that the writer/s of this article forgot that Hawaii is part of the US and that Kauai is one of the wettest places on earth with over 400 inches of rainfall per year. I think that well outpaces Yakutat, AK.

The most precipitation in the United States and the world falls at Mt. Waialeale on Kauai in Hawaii. It rains an average of 460 inches (11,684 millimetres) a year on the tropical island mountain.
Out of the over 270 major weather stations in the US, the two wettest are Yakutat, Alaska with 160.4 inches of precipitation and 235 wet days a year, and Hilo, Hawaii with 126.3 inches of rain and 278 rainy days a year.
