Quick Tip: Tarp Tactics

Tarp tips for the tactical hiker.

by: Jonathan Dorn

On a rainy day, set up your tarp over the kitchen area first. Then pitch the tent under the tarp and move it, fully assembled, to your tent site. If the tarp is being used as a vestibule, move it to the tent after cooking, or use a separate tarp (depending on group size). Set up the tarp-cum-vestibule so the tent door can be left open for views and ventilation.
