A BASE jumper died over the weekend in Zion National Park, the park's second such fatality in two months.
The victim, whose name and gender have not yet been released, was reported missing on Sunday, prompting search-and-rescue efforts in the West Temple Peak area. The Salt Lake Tribunereports that it may take several days for rangers to retrieve the body due to difficult weather conditions and treacherous terrain.
In February, 28-year-old Amber Bellows died when her parachute failed to open during a leap off of Mount Kinesava. BASE jumps are illegal within the park.
