Today is International Polar Bear Day – which you probably already know, because if not … what are you, some kind of monster? Us, we’ve got our polar bear suit on and we’re watching Coke winter commercials on repeat. Even better, Google’s dropping an extra-special gift: In conjunction with Polar Bear International and Frontiers North Adventures, they’ve taken the technology behind Google Maps Street View to Churchill, Manitoba — home to dense populations of polar bears – to give you a view into their habitat. Polar bears remain threatened by climate change—which may make you want to book a flight to Churchill pronto. But if you can’t, chasing them on Google Street View is a pretty rad alternative.
