Colorado governor John Hickenlooper upped the Super Bowl ante one step further Wednesday by temporarily (we think!) re-naming all of the state's 14,000-foot peaks for Denver Broncos players.
In a signed proclamation that begins "WHEREAS, the State of Colorado is confident that the Denver Broncos will beat the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII," Hickenlooper notes that Colorado has 53 "14ers," equal to the number of players on the Broncos' active roster. Therefore, on February 2nd, Mount Elbert will be known as "Peyton Manning" and residents of Colorado's front range will be able to gaze upon "Matt Prater," formerly known as Longs Peak.
The Denver Post has the full list of re-named peaks here. Your move, Seattle.
