Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is in a $24.3 billion hole.

And according to SFGate.com, the gov is eyeing state park funding that comes out of the government's general fund–to the tune of $150 million over two years.

$24.3 billion - $150 million = A moderately smaller, but still really big hole, say the proposal's detractors.

Not to mention the ramifications. Follow the tail:

Some of the parks facing potential closure include:

Mount Tamalpais in Marin County

Candlestick Point State Recreation Area in San Francisco County

San Bruno Mountain in San Mateo County

Annadel in Sonoma County

Luckily, this summer is safe, as all parks will stay open through Labor Day to honor current reservations, etc. But the ire is already rising in sunny California. The SFGate.com article has 215 comments (the modern day version of writing a letter to your congress person) and counting. The CA legislature has until July 1st, the dawning of a new fiscal year, to duke things out. Chime in in the comments section below. We'll, uh, forward them to the appropriate people.
