Backpack Review: Lafuma Pro 4810 Light

Cram all of your stuff and your hiking partner's five extra bags of gorp into this light daypack.

by: The Backpacker Editors

©Mitch Mandel

"Smart pack at a sweet price." That was our tester's initial assessment of this ultralight 2,100-cubic-inch daypack after a winter hike. The stiff frame and plushly padded shoulder straps and hipbelt can handle any load you care to cram inside. Feathery ripstop fabric keeps the weight down, while abrasion-resistant patches on the bottom and sides ramp up durability. Despite the low weight, you still get such extras as two good-sized external pockets, hydration sleeve, and helmet holder. Tool attachments and decent compression make the Pro 4810 a good choice as a technical daypack, and the just-enough capacity will work for superlight summer overnights. Check fit: There's one nonadjustable size.

How Much: $110

Weight: 2 lbs. 6 oz.

Sizes: 1 size (17-20.5" torsos)
