Check out the best lightweight boot for your heavyweight foot.
Hikers with high-volume feet often have trouble finding a good fit among lightweight shoes. Try on the Zakka, with its blunt toe and roomy forefoot. The ankles are soft for comfortable striding, but they're also high enough to protect your joints and keep out grit. Generous synthetic leather rands wrap the lower foot and reinforce the ankle cuff. The Gore-Tex liner keeps them dry. There are better boots for loaded off-trail bashing and technical scrambling, but few better suited to moderate-load trail treks. $120
