This could be the last camera you’ll ever need: The D300s shoots 12.3MP images and captures HD video through most compatible lenses, from fisheye to telephoto. The result: a two-in-one gadget that gives both aspiring and seasoned photographers full control in lens choice, exposure, and aperture.

The Active-D mode preserves fine color and shadow details on sunlit faces and wispy clouds that often trick the sensors on other cameras. Other highlights: dual memory cards; 10 in-camera editing features, including the ability to trim movies on the LCD screen; and a GPS connection for auto-geotagging.
