My favorite hike is the Pemi Loop in the White Mountains. This 31 mile loop in the interior of the forest will lead you over (8) 4000' plus peaks and you can easily grab 3 more along the way. The normal hike can easily be done in 3 days but some more adventerous folks tackle it in ond day. Either way the views are amazing and the portion from Mt. Liberty to beyond South Twin Peak is all on the Appalachian Trail.
