» Radnor Lake Loop, Radnor Lake SP Circle this 85-acre lake at dawn, and you’ll hear a veritable symphony—the park, located south of town, is home to 240 bird species, including many songbirds like the hooded warbler. Or hike it at dusk to see the bright city skyline, thanks to unobstructed hilltop views. Either way, this rolling, 4.3-mile circuit serves up “the sweetest sound track and the best workout in Music City,” says organizer Kelly Stewart. Miles from city center 10; Trip ID 22895

» Honey Creek Loop, Big South Fork NRA Squeeze through house-size boulders and pass low-angle waterfalls on this 4.6-miler in the rocky, erosion-carved sandstone gorges of the Big South Fork River.
