Your Guide

YMCA Columbus (ymcacolumbus.org)

Your Hikes
» Overlook Trail, Highbanks Metro Park Take this gravel and hardpack trail 2.3 miles to an observation deck 100 feet above the slow, snaking Olentangy River. “You climb steep grades through dense maple forest with rarely too many other people,” says club president Kathy Lince. Miles from city center 17; Trip ID 776675

» Conkle’s Hollow, Hocking Hills SP In the Hocking Hills, the land rises and wrinkles into piney ridges and yawning gorges. See the deepest on the 2.5-mile Rim Trail. “You’ll hike above the trees, atop 200-foot cliffs,” says Lince. Miles from city center 55; Trip ID 776670

As well as some nice paths that let you choose your own distance at Zaleski State Park. The trails let you choose campsites at 2,4,6 and 10 miles depending on how you want to attack the 23.5 mile sort of figure 8 trail loops.

How does one contribute to this list? There are a bunch of Buckeye Trail hikes near Cleveland that are 6 - 10 mile loops that I'd like to share.
