Video: Wild Lion Man

South African animal behaviorist gets up close and personal to study wild lions

Apparently, the lessons of Timothy "Grizzly Man" Treadwell haven't spread to Africa yet. South African animal behaviorist Kevin Richardson studies wild African lions in much the same fashion as Treadwell—up close and personal. This video shows him rolling around and playing with several tons of lethal claws, teeth, and fur:

Ummm....wow. He seems to have a real bond with these lions, and he's even bold enough to make the same "If I die, I regret nothing" pronouncements as Treadwell. If the lions ever get hungry in Richardson's presence, at least we'll have plenty of "I told you so" footage for the inevitable documentary.

READERS COMMENTS

Some may think it ignorant, however, I think an animal (even wild) knows a gentle soul and can relate to it...humans are much too superficial to see each other at that level! What a special person and a special experience!
