We all know the feeling of beer desperation. It’s hot; you’ve just emerged from the trail, covered with sweat and toil, and you’re eager to celebrate wilderness victory with suds, stat. What would you offer for a cold one? $20? Trade in your wedding ring? Maybe your truck?
If you said “barter with a live alligator,” I’m going to stop you right there, since a Miami man just tried it and it didn’t work.
The Associated Press reports that on Dec. 10, Florida wildlife officials cited the man for illegally capturing a 4-foot alligator at a nearby park and attempting to trade it for a 12-pack of beer at a Miami convenience store. Miraculously, the gator was “in pretty good shape” and released back into the wild.
