Backpacker Mag,
Not everyone is a junkie.... Where is the Weekend Warrior? The person who gets out when they can, the person who has no peaks within a days drive, the person who just wants to GET AWAY for a little while. Because that's me, I do enjoy some nature(hey check out that squirrel, I want to take my kids (when I have them). Mileage isn't for me, and never will be (Im more interested in quality not quantity). And I would love to be that multi guy, but don't have the time money or friends who have the time and money to get all that sweet gear. And as far as the pusher... To each their own, but I think you missed a big part of your readers when you made this. But I know you can do better, add some more for the people who backpack but also go to Football games on Sundays. For the people who paddle, but also see movies! For the birders who also like to attend speaker series... you get my point.

See myself as a little bit of all six. The peak bagger, mileage master, and the limit pusher are all basically the same type. As they say on the AT, "hike your own hike".

Save for the first hiker, all were kids. Me? Winter weekend warrior. I suppose you could call it peekbagging, but a nice meander to the site or lean-to, make base camp, eat dinner, get drunk, sleep, brekky, hit a couple of Cats peeks the next day, come back, cry, drink more, eat more, sleep, hit Olive's Cafe for brekky on the way out.
