I have found it very valuable to put a fitted tarp inside the tent after set up.This does several things. Keeps water from a hard rain from soaking through. Should you puncture the tent floor you won't absorb moisture through the tent floor to your sleeping bag in the rain. Also seems to improve condinsation inside the tent.
