1. Sounds like he got Two Med mixed up with Cut Bank. Hike past Rising Wolf.
2. Don't wait until Day 2 to beware of bears. Start that early on Day 1, as you leave Two Med. Carry bear spray!
3. Distance from Reynolds Creek to Gunsight Pass is not 2+ miles, but about 9.
4. The next camp after Ellen Wilson is not Sprague Creek, but rather Sperry, near Sperry Chalet. Visit the chalet for pie.
