GoLite Announces Take Back Program

the first outdoor industry end of life cycle recycling program that takes back everything

Today, GoLite launches its m its Take Back program. The Company is now take back anything it's ever made since its first production run in 1998. It's part of the company's commitment to keep its gear out of landfills and to help educate its customers on how to extend the life of their gear. On the I'm Not Trash page of GoLite's website, you'll find tips on giving your gear a long life and a second life, from repairing it to donating or selling it, to repurposing it. No time or no inclination? You can also now send the GoLite gear you're done with back to GoLite, and GoLite will donate, reuse, repurpose, or recycle it. If GoLite can't figure out how to recycle or reuse a part of an old pack or bag, it will store it until the company finds a use/solution. What's in it for you? Send in your old gear or apparel, and GoLite will give you a 20% off coupon towards a future purchase at GoLite.com. Better yet, save on shipping and show GoLite that you repurposed, reused or donated your old gear locally (a receipt from a consignment shop, Goodwill, or a photo of that new "GoLite" grocery bag you made from your old GoLite tent will work), and GoLite will email you a coupon.

A few restrictions: gear has to be GoLite brand and clean for GoLite to accept it, and no GoLite footwear (GoLite shoes are actually made by another company). GoLite will take back product from anywhere in the world, but only US-based customers get the coupon. In Europe, GoLite will pay your shipping when you return products to GoLite, but in the US, you're responsible for shipping.

While other outdoor companies, like Patagonia, take back specific categories of products they make, GoLite is the first company we know of to take back everything.
