How's the akto for condensation? How does it compare to the msr hubba hp? I thought you could set up the fly first on the hubba hp and then put up inner tent to keep it dry in a downpour. Does anyone have experience with it?

What scale is everyone using. My Akto is exactly 53oz packed with all pegs (10), guylines, and repair sleeve. And yes, it is bomber.

Henry Shires has some excellent tents, expecially the solo line most suitable for thru hikers. With that said, I have owned a most excellent MSR Zoid 1 for 4 years now. sub 3 lb. super weather proof, durability is top notch, simplicity of set up is 3 stake two pole config. large entry door and vestibule. They do not make this tent any more pity. The best tent is the one that suits your needs not someone else's opinion.

At 4.5 lbs, the Akto is hardly ultralight. Sure, if you are only going to own 1 tent and you winter camp, it might be the best. But not many people focus their weight savings efforts on winter camping anyway. Henry Shire's Tarptents are far and away the best truly ultralight options out there. I have the Rainbow and it is a fabulous ultralight tent in every respect. Until you use one, you don't have any idea what you're missing.

While the Mountain Hardwear Sprite is lighter than the Akto, the Sprite is not a Winter tent. The Akto is heavier but better suited to winter camping.

I'll support Chris on this one the Akto rocks period!!

The Mountain Hardware Sprite is 55 oz. The Atko is 70 oz. The Tarptent Contrail is 25 oz. For someone concerned with weight, the tarptent is far superior. I've weathered 2" of hail, day after day in rain, and real gully washers in it. Sure, it's not a winter tent.

I would much rather have My Mountain Hardware Sprite 1 than these. Its light and easy to set-up very versital.

I would put my HIlleberg Akto against any of these 1-person winners. The Akto is way superior to any of these tents in my opinion.
