This synthetic bag is a killer deal and offers a "tucked in" fit.
You don't have to spend big to stay warm in winter. This affordable synthetic has elastic stitching that compresses the bag's inner lining around your body–eliminating cold air pockets–without a mummy-tight fit. "It felt like mommy tucked me in," one tester said.
The Exceloft fill, which feels softer than most synthetic insulations, kept even our cold sleepers comfortable in bone-chilling Wales and on bitter winter nights in Canyonlands National Park. And campers noted that the bag seemed to warm up faster than a typical synthetic sack. The tradeoff: It's more than a pound heavier than a comparably rated down bag. It's also bulkier than down, but not by much; it packs to rugby-ball-size in the included compression sack. $185; 4 lbs. 6 oz.; 0°F
