Verdict

“When I was hiking, and rock climbing in Idaho’s Castle Rocks State Park in mid-May, the weather changed every five minutes: clouds and wind one moment, warm sunshine and calm air the next. The Supercharger Pants kept up, thanks to highly breathable, water- and stain-resistant, stretchy Schoeller fabric (articulated at the knee) that makes them comfortable for cool-weather hiking, and climbing. Nice details, too: The fly opens upward (unlike on standard pants) to work well with a climbing harness. The elasticized waistband with low-profile webbing belt ensures a flat fit under a hipbelt, and the two hand pockets and one zippered thigh pocket are all you need, though the thigh pocket is on the small side.” $125; 11 oz. “I love the zippered ankle gussets that let me roll the pants up to my knees.”
