Boot Review: Garmont Dakota Plus

Want a midweight that can tread in heavyweight terrain?

Firm ankle support and stiff midsoles helped these boots subdue 50-pound loads in rough Denali country, according to reports from our “Alaska Tested” review. A heel ledge for semi-auto crampon compatibility makes them a good choice for aggressive trekkers looking to dabble in mountaineering. Despite a medium-volume last, one narrow-footed tester found no heel slip.
