I am having a very hard time finding the right pair of trail pants. I’ve
searched online and found what seems to be a thousand pairs and none are the right pair. Do you have a favorite?
They’re pricey at $179, but here’s why I love them: They fit great with a trim cut that’s not baggy or billowy and the Schoeller 3XDry is super-stretchy, breathable, and durable. I also like that the pockets are smooth and low key—no big cargos that look so slumpy.
And, they look great even after a week of straight mountain wear– I wore these for almost an entire week of testing in Switzerland this past October.
When worn alone, the weight is ideal for temps from about 40°F to about 70°F.
If the price tag is too much for you to swallow, check out Outdoor Research’s Venture Pants for $70 They’re made of a lighter weight fabric (Supplex) that’s better for hotter weather. —Kristin
