Does a down sleeping bag go bad?

I have an old The North Face expedition down bag. It has been in storage for 35 years. It looks good still, but will it fall apart?

I used my mid-1980s (30 yr old) TNF bag last night on the Appalachian Trail. Still works fine. Like new actually. I washed it a while back which helped it smell a lot better and gave it more loft (which I now regret since it is now TOO warm). I know a person with a Holubar bag from the 1950s which she still uses. Take care of your bag and it will last two lifetimes.
