Gear Review: Osprey MapWrap

This map case is the best way to tote your map into the backcountry since the Ziploc bag.

Verdict
Yes, even our most passionate GPS geeks still use paper maps. And now they have a much better way to carry them. This tri-fold, waterproof map case attaches vertically along a pack’s shoulder strap, and it’s an improvement over all other methods because it tucks discreetly out of the way when not in use, but is still easy to reference: Just undo the Velcro strap to view the map through the clear plastic pane. It’s also a great place to store photocopied guidebook pages. Pros Doesn’t flap around like dorky necklace-style map cases. Cons Heavier and pricier than a zip-top bag. ospreypacks.com
