A cozy and cute wool hat

“There are a ton of functional hats out there, but Pistil makes the best-looking and warmest hats I’ve found,” said our Rocky Mountain tester, who wears wool beanies for eight months every year.

Her faves? The heavyweight, 100-percent merino wool Twiggy or Tulip for deep cold, and the lightweight, wool/acrylic blend Bubblegrass for aerobic pursuits. Both hats are lined with a soft fleece band that eliminates itch. $34; 2 oz.; pistildesigns.com
