Cooking Review: Flatworld Orikaso Dish

Multi-use cookware fit for gear geeks, geniuses, or anyone willing to sacrifice soup for space.

by: The Backpacker Editors

©Mitch Mandel
If the gear you use, like the clothes you wear on Saturday night, says something about who you are, this folding dish marks you as an ultralight genius or an ultralight geek--or maybe both at once. The plastic bowl folds flat for packing, washing, and use as cutting board or plate, and snaps together to create a deep bowl. The V-shaped corners are good for straining noodles, bad for sipping soup. Cups and other campware are available, but we like this dish because you don't need origami skills to assemble it when you're tired and hungry. $6; 1.4 oz. (800) 335-0260; www.flatworld.co.uk.
