MSR's new Speedlock binding is insanely quick to set up, and it's glove friendly. Just stuff your boot into the oversized front binding, grab the single rear strap, pull it tight across the heel, and secure it on the metal tooth. Done and done.
these sound find and dandy but when put to the test with samuel gardner, they failed epically. — Bruant
I thought this binding system was brilliant too, but after a season of using it, I found too many flaws with it and do not recommend it. The biggest two:
- doesn't work well with boots that have raised eyelets because you can't easily slide the toe of your boot under the front strap
- extremely difficult and moderately time-consuming to adjust in the field, particularly while wearing gloves, if you need to fine-tune it or size it for different boots — DV
