New for 2011, MSR's Evo Tour are a comfortable pair of snowshoes that will get you through most winter terrain. I used them on everything from crusty, windswept plains to moderately steep, fresh powder, and I was very impressed by their versatility.

I thought this binding system was brilliant too, but after a season of using it, I found too many flaws with it and do not recommend it. The biggest two:
- doesn't work well with boots that have raised eyelets because you can't easily slide the toe of your boot under the front strap
- extremely difficult and moderately time-consuming to adjust in the field, particularly while wearing gloves, if you need to fine-tune it or size it for different boots — DV
