i was first introduced to thor lo's in high school when i played basketball . i've worn them ever since ...i've had wigwam's and they are comfy but if you want a good dependable sock then thor lo's can't be beat .mine lasted five years and i am pretty hefty weighing in at 280 pounds . the only complaint i've had is that the tops get loose . i hope this helps someone when they get socks because for the price a couple of pairs of thor lo's last really that long ...
The other day I noticed that my first pair of Thorlos has worn thin where my big toe rubs. I bought those socks for a backpacking trip to the Smokies two years before my daughter was born. On Sunday, she will turn 15 -- and will be getting a driver's permit. I can't believe I have worn this pair of socks for 17 years! I have purchased other Thorlos and other socks, but that first pair has been with me all over the place - up mountains, down rivers, across snowy forests and through muddy fields. My time afield has been blessed by the versatility and comfort of those Thorlos. But if one word sums up my thoughts on this pair of socks it is 'confidence.' I know each time how they will perform in various conditions. After all these years, I was a bit sad to see the worn spot because they have given me so many good miles. I tend to wear those socks on the same feet each time, so, I guess maybe it's time to switch feet ... or maybe buy a new pair. Either way, those Thorlos are definately durable.
