With a streamlined cut and stretchy nylon/elastane fabric, the Helly Hansen Muru Shorts allow good range of movement without baggy styling. And the broad waistband is lined with a poly/cotton blend that feels comfy beneath a hipbelt. The cotton slows drying, but that was a plus in shorts weather, says our tester, as it has a cooling effect. “There are five pockets, but even when they’re full you hardly notice them,” he says, after stashing a GPS in the deep front pocket and an iPhone in the zippered thigh. $55; 9 oz.
