Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue: Banff Edition
SI takes athlete models to Canada's marquee national park
This year, Sports Illustrated skipped the sandy beaches and palm trees in favor of Doug firs, glaciers, and 10,000-foot peaks. The magazine chose to shoot three athlete models in Banff National Park, Canada.SI people say they were inspired by the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver to give Bermuda a break and explore the mountainous Canadian Rockies instead. The models featured in the Banff shots included Paraguayan Olympic javellin-thrower Leryn Franco, U.S. volleyball player and silver medalist Kim Glass, and Brazilian pro surfer Bruna Schmitz. It's not like they're lugging packs or trekking poles; instead, it's the same skimpy swimsuits—this time flanked by Banff frontcountry must-sees like Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, the Bow River, Bow Falls and Johnson Lake.

I am heading to geezer status and i still hit the long trails Banff and Jasper in 2002 were awsum inclinding the mad cow moose that charged me twice with intent to stomp in mud

If you read the linked article you would know that all three women are high level athletes. I'm sure they could hit the trails a lot faster than the geezers on here who think SI is a dirty mag.

This is why my wife doesn't mind me having the SI swimsuit edition. You probably couldn't take these ladies on trail.
Glad to see this done in the great outdoors since BerkshiresTrails is the perfect setting for just such a shoot. Too bad they didn't make it out here.
