These leak-free polyurethane-coated nylon gaiters are less than $30.

Bargain
We're renaming these the Spendthrift Gaiters, because they prove that, yes, you can stay dry without dropping a fortune. Our tester wore the over-the-calf gaiters, made from polyurethane-coated nylon, through a week of torrential rain in Wales, and they didn't leak a drop.

The tailored but not too snug fit and full-length Velcro front closure resisted snagging on rocks and roots during sketchy scrambles, and the rugged lace hook kept the gaiter edge pulled down tight over the laces. The bottom hem stays put thanks to a raised, sticky rubber pattern along the seam and an adjustable drawstring across the instep. $29; 7 oz.; ems.com
