Wow...the Swiss Alps are just as gorgeous during the fall. I've been there in the winter and it was the trip of a lifetime! Looks fantastic and I can't wait to read all the details!

I was unaware that one could "backpack" anywhere in Europe. The alpenhut systems were set up to encourage their use and keep people from tenting and spoiling the streams and land. How did you do this?
