Trail up to Lookout Mountain continuing on to Fish Lake and back. Roundtrip is about 8 miles, a good two day trip. Beautiful views of Lost Lake and Fish Lake as well as Grandmother and Grandfather mountains, and the Marble Creek drainage. Dificult hike mostly along ridgeline and water is scarce along trail in September. Resident bull moose at Fish Lake, as well as several other sightings of moose, one of which was a cow with two calves. One flat campsite on the south shore and another on the east shore. Avoid camping on the west shore even though it is flat as it is swampy. To Trailhead: Drive north on Hwy 3, turn R at Clarkia (Poplar St.). Follow road as it turns R. At Old red school house, turn L onto gravel road. Hobo Trail sign. Follow road over bridge and turn R. Travel until next bridge crossing (several miles). Here take a left, and at the next Y take a right up the hill. Follow for ~10 miles, many rocks on road for the last 8 miles. Parking lot on your Left.
