A true winter wonderland, the Southern Sierra had a recent storm drop over 4 feet of snow on the ground. Even during the winter, the forest was a live! During the 3 beautiful days I was there, it sounded like it was raining most of the time as the sun melted the snow off the trees. At times, large snowfalls would come crashing off the trees - not a good idea to stand under large trees for any amount of time!
