This is a short 5 mile hike from the Shawnee Backpack Trail's parking lot to camp site #7. For Ohio, this is one of the more challenging areas you'll encounter. The people who created this trail have never heard of a switchback, so there's a lot of up and down that'll burn your quads nicely. The trail is wide and well maintained as it serves quadruple duty as the Shawnee Backpack Trail, the Buckeye Trail, the North Country Trail, and the American Discovery Trail. There isn't much scenery to be seen in these 5 miles due to the dense forest cover, although the rest of the trail may provide nicer views. On this trip, I saw a black bear and a rattle snake, so please be careful!
