A moderate but persistent hike up to the summit. About 3,000 ft elevation gain with an out and back mileage of about 8 miles. Trailhead at near Flume Visitor center. Decided to take the Whitehouse Trail to Liberty Springs Trail to the summit. From the summit of Liberty you can see Flume and is about another mile. The descent from Flume is full of loose gravel and slick rocks so I decided to go back down the Liberty Springs Trail. Trail is in good shape, persistent uphills all the way to the summit!
The views from the summit are spectacular, especially for a fall foliage hike. Great hike.
