Just 20 minutes from downtown Dallas, Cedar Hill State Park is the closest state park to the Dallas side of the DFW metroplex. The Duck Pond trail is a relatlively simple trail with minor inclines and descendts, alternating mostly shaded hiking with some small spots open to the sun. Potential wildlife spotting include turtles, ducks and cranes, rabbits and deer.
