|NATIONAL PARKS QUICKLINKS|
A short 10 minute walk through towering trees brings you to the edge of the ocean at this wildlife sanctuary. From here, turn left and meander along the cliff edge just yards above the ocean, where you can watch seals play in the surf, hunt salmon and lingcod, and bask in the sunshine on the rocks just offshore. Sealions and porpoises have also been spotted here.
Be careful as you lower yourself onto the rocks oceanside; the tide rips through here at the pace of a raging river due to the narrow gap between Lopez and san Juan island. It is intensified in the channel that runs through Shark Reef.
