| NATIONAL PARKS QUICKLINKS |
The trail starts as a wide paved hike with lots of people and lots of benches. After passing the General Sherman Tree the crowds thin out and as you keep walking the pavement disappears and soon you are by yourself amongst the Giants. Don't let the crowds steer you away. These trees are worth seeing. Seeing the named trees is amazing, but getting off the paved trail and seeing the sheer number of un-named huge sequoias is amazing.
I highly recommend the Trail of the Sequoias. The route is beautiful with the ground soft and the hills pleasant but tough enough to be a workout. We saw a bear, mule deer and lots of little animals. A very pleasant hike. One of the most enjoyable hikes I have ever been on.
Even if you don't follow this exact route be sure to hike through some of the meadows as you make your way to different named trees in the park. The meadows are amazing, again a bear was seen in the meadow.
Pick up a map near the trail head and have fun!
