Fort Donelson Battlefield trail

ky

Star Star Star Star Star

Distance: 2.8 miles

This hike is part of a National Historic Park at Fort Donelson, Tennesee.
  • Snake
  • Bald Eagle

The main trail at this park, is very beautiful as it passes through the woods, and along the riverbank. There are many opportunities to see wildlife on this trail. During my visit, I saw 3 deer, a snake (up close), and a bald eagle. While enjoying the scenery and wildlife, you also get to learn about how Fort Donelson played an integral role in the Civil war. This hike is very beautiful, very educational, and a great place to see wildlife.
