Begin this hike at the Seiur de Monts parking area and head toward the Tarn on either the Jesup path or the Seiur de Monts-Tarn trail. When you come to the Tarn turn left (East) on the Beechcroft Trail and cross Route 3. Head up Huguenot Head, though you never summit it, along granite steps, with nice views all along. Drop into the dip between the Huguenot Head and Champlain Mtn., leaving the granite steps behind. Finally, ascend Champlain Mtn., along a much rougher trail, enjoying the great views. At the top the views extend in all directions. Descend via the Champlain South Ridge Trail (a.k.a. Bear Brook Trail) and the Bowl trail to the Sand Beach parking area. Either have a shuttle arranged or take the free Island Explorer Bus back to Seiur de Monts.
