|NATIONAL PARKS QUICKLINKS|
My daughters and I did this hike on Labor Day of '09. In truth, its more of a long walk (a VERY long walk for an 8 year old!) along the central portion of the Shawangunk Ridge. There are fantastic views over Lake Minnewaska, Palmaghatt Ravine, the Hudson Valley, and northwards towards the Catskills. You'll also see Awosting Falls and Rainbow Falls along the way. The trails are fairly well marked. There are a couple of small rock scrambles which are suitable for younger children with little climbing experience.
