| NATIONAL PARKS QUICKLINKS |
The hike starts out at the Overlook trailhead which is at the end of the campground. Take #12 Homestead west until it turns south at the park boundary upon entering a beautiful wetland area. Along the Homestead trail, you will pass a small cabin. Take #31 Mountain Logger at the trail junction which will head west then south again. At the junction for #13 Black Bear, head west again briefly until you cross the junction for #30 Nobel Cabin which will loop back to re-connect with #13 further to the west. The side trail to Nobel Cabin is well marked near the reconnection with #13. Upon reconnecting with #13, head east to the junction for trail #27 Osborne Homestead which will head south then loop to the east to re-connect with trail #13. The Osborne homestead is the most extensive cabin with several buildings and historical markers with information about the family and the usage of the land before it was purchased by the state of Colorado. Trail #27 will re-connect with trail #13 Black Bear to the east and the Black Bear trail will head back to the campground. The Black Bear trailhead is approx. 1/2 mile south through the campground back to the starting point at the Overlook trailhead.
