Took the Ranger III out of Houghton MI, spent 6 hours on Lake Superior. Upon unloading at Rock Harbor we booked it to Daisy Farm campground in 2 hours. Up to Greenstone Ridge and Mt. Ojibwe the next day, had lunch overlooking the island, then down the other side to Lanes Cove. The third day the 6 of us hiked back over the ridge to 3 Mile camp area. The next day was an easy hike back to Rock Harbor, with a day hike to Scoville Point the following morning. Saw 4 moose in all, 2 cows, 1 calf, and 1 bull. No wolves though we did see signs of them. Awesome trip!!!! Started with a 52lb. pack, ended with low food at 40 lb. For a first real hike it was incredible. Looking to lower my pack weight to mid thirties :p
